How much would I lose if I just recorded in the standard camera ... Honestly, it's just so overwhelming. I'll be getting a camera soon and I have some videos planned...as I'm getting closer to buying it, I'm reading more into color grading, flat footage, cine D, etc. Etc. Etc...it's just daunting. How much would I lose if I just recorded in the standard camera settings at 4K 10-bit?It's just so stressful looking at all this information about LUTs, color correction, zebras, flatness... Edit: people are mentioning profiles - I'm not really sure what these are...I've only ever done photography and even there I'm not a pro... The most experience I have with video is hitting record on my phone after picking my resolution and FPS...The reason why picture profiles are handy for videographers is that, unlike photographers, we aren’t working with a raw image. It’s almost like we’re working with a jpeg. The standard picture profile, which is usually the default, already has a look built in. With a raw image, you can manipulate that. With a jpeg, you can’t. So by changing your profile to something more flatter (or rather something with less contrast), you can dial that to your liking in the edit.Now there are some picture profiles that cameras have developed that work for video, like CineD and Log profiles. What those do is give you a very flat, desaturated image so that you can add contrast and saturation to your liking.
